In May of 1980, the Union City High School Class of 1980 graduated. One hundred twenty-five class members completed their high school years spent at Union City High School in Union City, Tennessee. Union City High School is home of the Golden Tornadoes which consists of outstanding sports teams and an award winning marching band. It also offers an impressive academic curriculum.

Union City is a small town located in the Northwest corner of Tennessee almost on the Kentucky/Missouri line in Obion County. The UCHS Class of 1980 is a group of close-knit friends that still remain in contact with each other today. Back in 1980, free time for class mates consisted of "cruising the strip" with the "strip" meaning circling the movie theater, driving around the Sonic Drive-in, and making a pass through the Reelfoot Shopping Center parking lot and back up to the movie. We also enjoyed dancing almost every weekend at our local "disco" which consisted of paying $1.00 to get in and dance from 8pm-12pm on weekend nights at the fairgrounds exhibit building. After all, this was the height of "disco fever" (uuggghhh)!

Many talented and unique personalities make up the Class of 1980 which have turned into a range of occupations. Our class now consists of an attorney, author, real estate developers, pastors, engineers, teachers, nurses, homemakers, event planner, salesmen, meteorologist, accountants, banker, cosmetologists, band director, computer programmers, farmers, insurance agents, neurologist, basketball coach, pharmacists, cytotechnologist, managers, funeral director, firefighter, college recruiter, and entrepreneurs. Classmates are scattered throughout the country living in Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Minnesota, California, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, and Virginia.
